I make harpsichords, clavichords and small organs in the antique way.
That means that, as far as it is important for the sound of the instrument and for the way it looks, I try to use the same materials as the ancient builders did.
I also try to work in the same way as they did and I use the same tools as they did.
In cutting trees (the right moment) and drying wood (the right tempo) I work in the old-fashioned way too.
I always have only accepted the old instruments in the musea and churches as being my teachers.
The way I look at this old instruments is sometimes inspired by someone.
Sometimes by a musician, sometimes by a builder.
I am very grateful for their inspiration!
